BOARD OF SELECTMEN
December 18, 2007 The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen took place on Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 at the Evans Memorial Building. Present were: Don Philbrick, Rick Young and Lee Stack. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. The Selectmen reviewed checks and signed the accounts payable manifest for $162,610.76 for 13 items. The minutes for the meeting of December 11th were approved as corrected. The Selectmen signed a property tax abatement warrant for $500 for a veterans exemption. Lee Stack made a motion, seconded by Rick Young, to charge 50 cents per page for copying. The motion carried unanimously. Rick Young made a motion, seconded by Lee Stack, to encumber $25,000 from Article 4 (roads) and $3,000 from Article 6 (radios) from the 2007 Town Meeting. The motion carried unanimously. Rick Young made a motion, seconded by Lee Stack, to encumber $72,000 from the previous year for the Town’s share for replacing the Potter Rd bridge. The motion carried unanimously. Don Philbrick noted the School Board will be deciding in January on whether to move the school bus stop from the Eaton Village Store to the beach area. Rick Young said he was waiting on a call back for trapping the beavers in Snow Brook. Lee Stack noted there had already been some responses to the letter sent out with the tax bill soliciting input on broadband access. An application for a building permit for a deck for property in Snowville was reviewed. The setbacks need clarification. Signature item was a letter to a property owner over building without a permit. Also signed was a response to Lorenz Reibling who had complained about ATV’s running over private property on Breezy Point. Included with the letter was a copy of the statute pertaining to ATV’s (RSA 215) and the requirement that permission was needed from the property owner. Kevin O’Donnell filed an inquiry on why his property valuation had been increased when he had done nothing to the property. The matter will be referred to Jason Call, the Town Appraiser. The New Hampshire Public Works Training and Standards Council was encouraging the Town to join the Public Works Academy. Joanne Campano had called requesting more information for filing their revised current use plan. Two timber cuts with minimum wetlands impact (Campano and Heath) have been approved by the Department of Environmental Services. Carol Mayhofer signed checks and brought some Christmas cheer. Received from the State was $1,908 for Revenue Sharing and $17, 896.17 for the Room and Meals Tax for 2007. Mark Griffin and Suzanne Raiche were in attendance.
