BOARD OF SELECTMEN
February 19, 2008 The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen took place on Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 at the Evans Memorial Building. Present were: Don Philbrick, Rick Young and Lee Stack. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. The Selectmen reviewed checks and signed the accounts payable manifest for $18,848.57 for 22 items. The minutes for the meeting of February 12th were accepted as amended,. Rick Young said that he had received an email from Janet Bridgham requesting use of the Town Hall on March 10th for the Eaton Democratic Party Annual Meeting. The Board of Selectmen approved the request for meeting downstairs in the basement. The Department of Revenue Administration’s review of the warrant had one minor recommendation for change. Signature items were the warrant and MS-6 budget report. It has to be posted no later than February 25th. Two visitors from Rhode Island who have purchased property on Glines Hill met with the Selectmen to discuss procedures for a boundary line adjustment and for obtaining a building permit. The Selectmen proof read part of the Town Report. Not all the reports are in. Carol Mayhofer signed checks. Correspondence from Xerox was received extending the contract on the copier. PSNH had sent a copy of the New Hampshire Economic Review. The Assessors newsletter discussed current use assessments. The Technology Center at UNH had sent details on their spring workshops on roads. Heather MacNeill is the staff member from Carol Shea Porter’s office assigned to cover the Town of Eaton. Legislative Bulletin #9 dealt with the retirement system, the right to know law and the direct and indirect impact of Dredge and Fill Permit applications on wetlands . Mark Griffin said he was in transition with Suzanne Raiche taking over his positions as Town Clerk and Tax Collector. On the recommendation of Suzanne Raiche, the Selectmen voted unanimously agreed to appoint Jeanne Hartman as Deputy Town Clerk. Deputy tax Collector.
