TOWN OF EATON, NEW HAMPSHIRE 03832

EVANS MEMORIAL BUILDING

BOARD OF SELECTMEN

October 16, 2007

The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen took place on Tuesday, October 16th, 2007 at the Evans Memorial Building. Present were: Don Philbrick, Rick Young and Lee Stack. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

The Selectmen reviewed checks and signed the accounts payable manifest for $157,456.67 for 13 items.

Sunni Wilkewitz and Karen Brisbois met with the Selectmen and discussed two issues. They would like additional electrical outlets downstairs available for the Craft Fair being put on by the Community Circle. They would also like to purchase some new tables and would like somewhere to store them so they can keep closer tabs on when they are being borrowed. A visit downstairs was made to determine if the storage room housing the oil tanks could be used. It will require being tidied up.

The minutes for the meeting of October 9nd were accepted as corrected.

Don Philbrick said he had not been able to join the site visit to the Griffin property on Thursday. He noted there had been an accident in front of the Eaton Village Store earlier in the day.

Rick Young said the two bridges have been installed on the Willis Bean Rd.

Rick Young and Lee Stack made a site visit to the Griffin property last week. They felt there was an easy fix on the Costello property to the problem on the Griffin property. They estimated the wash out as being about 4 truckloads of fill.

Lee Stack said a private petitioned letter had been sent to the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission with concerns about the stonewalling of Verizon and Time Warner to requests to expand broadband access in the Town of Eaton. The signatories to the letter would like FairPoint Communications to do something about the situation.

A message from Julie Chase from New Hampshire Homeland Security and Emergency Management indicated funds were available for generating a Hazard Mitigation Emergency Plan for Eaton together with a recommendation of someone to do it. The Selectmen wanted to know where the funds were coming from and whether any additional funds from the Town would be required. They also questioned the basis for the recommendation and who else would be available.

Carol Mayhofer signed checks.

Primex had published the next edition of their risk management journal.

The Local Government Center had sent an update on the manual on budgets and the municipal budget act.

Kenneth McKenzie had been into Town Hall earlier in the day inquiring if there were any copies available of the subdivision regulations in effect in 1981. So far, none have been found.

Mark Griffin and Suzanne Raiche were in attendance.

The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

David V. Maudsley
