BOARD OF SELECTMEN

October 2, 2007

The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen took place on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007 at the Evans Memorial Building. Present were: Don Philbrick, Rick Young and Lee Stack. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

The Selectmen reviewed checks and signed the accounts payable manifest for $12,865.01 for 17 items.

Stacey Clancy filed a building permit application for a new house on Bean Rd. It was reviewed, approved and signed by the Board of Selectmen (Building permit #2723). The fee of $95.50 was paid by check.

Rick Young said that copies of all building permits for new houses should be sent to David Pandora.

The minutes for the meeting of September 25th were accepted as amended.

Rick Young said he had spoken with the Department of Transportation official and with Phil Steel about the stone berm by the Camp Waukeela beach. The Department of Transportation will remove the stone berm this fall but there was an understanding among all the parties involved that the Department of Transportation’s efforts of installing the berm and removing it were for this year only.

Lee Stack said the fire pond is filling up. He has heard nothing from Verizon or FairPoint Communications about broadband access.

Signature item was a letter to Randy Cooper requesting that any funds resulting from Eaton Day activities should be placed in the Capital Reserve Fund for Eaton Day.

The age and reliability of the copier was discussed. There was also concerns over unauthorized access. Various scenarios for replacing the copier were discussed and will be researched further .

Carol Mayhofer signed checks.

The Department of Environmental Services has issued approvals for two timber cuts; Peter Blue et al for R 3, lot 38 and for Bud Nelson for R 3, lot 26. .

The deadline for Community Block Grants is October 31st.

Mark Griffin and Suzanne Raiche were in attendance.

The meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
