BOARD OF SELECTMEN
October 23, 2007 The regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen took place on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007 at the Evans Memorial Building. Present were: Don Philbrick, Rick Young and Lee Stack. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. The minutes for the meeting of October 16th were accepted as amended. Rick Young noted there had been a complaint from Porter, Maine about activities on the Willis Bean Rd. Paul Savchick is looking into it. Lee Stack inquired what was the resolution of the septic issue associated with the Marienello building permit application to replace one mobile home with a larger one. The property had a 1983 State approved septic system for a three bedroom house and the building permit had been issued. A check for $2,193.13 from Eaton Day activities was received from Randy Cooper, who said that, in order to deposit the money, a Capital Reserve Fund would have to be established next year. The Selectmen noted that a Capital Reserve Fund for Eaton Day had been established in 2002. The Selectmen noted that the 30 day period for the Department of Environmental Services to come to a decision on the permit application to install additional culverts on the Bush Rd was just about up. The Department will be contacted for an update. NHLoGIN had sent information on technology sessions they are sponsoring at the Local Government Center’s Annual Meeting in November. The New Hampshire Association of Conservation Commissions has their Annual Meeting on November 3rd in Concord. Signature item was the MS-1 property valuation form. The notice for the Public Hearing required by the Department of Revenue Administration for an emergency appropriation under RSA 32:11 for the April storm has been posted. "Supply Lines", the newsletter from the Department of Environmental Services Drinking Water and Groundwater Bureau discussed standardizing source water protection, mutual aid agreements and changes to the Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act. The Mt Washington Valley Economic Council was requesting that a representative from the Town be appointed to serve on the Council. A temporary driveway permit has been issued by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation for Ernest Nelson on Rte 153. The Department of Revenue Administration newsletter discussed the appraisal of utility property and mass appraisal techniques. Mark Griffin and Suzanne Raiche were in attendance.
