Eaton Conservation Commission

September 11, 2006

1.Meeting was called to order by Paul Savchick. Present were Paul Savchick, Rick Young, Dick Brisbois, Judy Fowler, Kristy Foster and Ken McKenzie.

2.There were two corrections to the 8/14/06 minutes in item # 6 (Blueberries): line #3 Arthur Harvey "picked 560 quarts per day," and line # 9 "mowing might be $250-$350 per acre." Minutes of 8/14/06 were?accepted as amended.

3.BLUEBERRIES There was discussion of Arthur Harvey?s operation and there are many questions ECC members felt need clarification. Rick will invite Mr. Harvey to the next ECC meeting to learn about his operation.

4.FOREST MANAGEMENT Paul has continued to work with the two bridge compa-nies re: estimates and delivery dates. There was discussion re: type of bridges and it was felt it would be highly unlikely either of these bridges would ever need to be moved so the modular type is appropriate. Part of the road on either end of the bridges will need to be brought up to specifications. This work can not be done by the Town as this is a class VI road. Rick will explore making the road suitable for a tractor-trailer to get in to install the bridges. The motion for purchase and installation of two modular bridges from the ADM Company was unanimously accepted.
