PLANNING BOARD

August 16, 2006

The Planning Board held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, August 16th, 2006 at the Evans Memorial Building. Present were; Paul Savchick, Dick Shaw, Sunni Wilkewitz, Lee Stack, Nancy Malvesta and Joyce Blue. The meeting was called to order by Paul Savchick at 7:05 p.m.

The minutes for the meeting of July 19th were accepted as distributed.

Joyce Blue gave the Selectmen?s Report. She noted the new shades had been installed in Town Hall. The Selectmen had made no progress with Conway over the recreation program but Madison was still an alternative. There had been some discussion over what the Shoreland Protection Ordinance Committee would come up with. The hearings on the revaluation had been held and the final numbers will be put on the web shortly.

Paul Savchick gave the Conservation Commission Report. The Conservation Commission had been talking with Arthur Harvey from Maine about picking the blueberries and some will be picked this year. The choice of bridges for the Willis Bean Rd has been narrowed to two. Paul Savchick said he is waiting final quotations from the two companies before proceeding with the wetlands permit.

The New Hampshire Planners Association is hosting the NNECAPA Annual Conference at Church Landing in Meredith on September 21-22. The agenda was distributed.

Following a discussion on the Zoning Ordinance, the Planning Board agreed to recode it using a decimal system. The Zoning Board of Adjustment had indicated they may wish to make some minor changes to the ordinance in relation to special exceptions.

The Planning Board discussed issues relating to the renewal of building permits and how long they should be renewable before adhering to changes in the ordinance enacted after the first building permit was issued.

US Cellular were now looking in the area of Libby Mt for a cell tower.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
