TOWN OF EATON PLANNING BOARD February 15, 2006 The Planning Board held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 15th, 2006 at the Evans Memorial Building. Present were; Paul Savchick, David Sorensen, Dick Shaw, George Murphy, Nancy Malvesta and Joyce Blue. Alternate attending was Lee Stack. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. The minutes for the January 18th meeting were approved as distributed. Joyce Blue gave the Selectmen?s report. She said the Budget Hearing had been held on February 9th with a bigger turn out than usual. The main issue at Town Meeting will probably be the Recreation appropriation. Conway have increased the fee to more than double that of last year. The Selectmen are also pursuing the status of the feasibility study for a septic system for Eaton Center. Nothing has happened to the project and the grant has expired. Paul Savchick said the Conservation Commission had been reviewing timber cut payments, and the blueberry picking. The timber cut has yielded about $34,254 to this point. Since the Shoreland Protection Ordinance has been withdrawn a committee will be set up to review it in time for next year. The Commission will have a handout for distribution at this year?s Town Meeting. Shelley Schou had met with the Commission to discuss holding a Flower Walk on May 13th on Town lands. There will be a notice in the Tatler about it. Joyce Blue introduced Nancy Malvesta as a new prospective member of the Planning Board. Nancy Malvesta has experience with Master Plans and will move to update the Eaton Master Plan. Nancy Malvesta explained that the process proceeds better if she meets with one of the Selectmen to develop the plan before going before the Planning Board. Details on the OEP Spring conference to be held in Manchester on Saturday, April 1st were distributed. An inquiry had been made to the Town Hall about cell towers. It was noted the Zoning Ordinance on wireless facilities was done several years ago and may need updating. The Board unanimously voted to appropriate up to $1,000 for a legal review of the ordinance. Attorney Robert Ciandella was the original reviewer and he will be contacted for an estimate. The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m. Respectfully submitted, David V. Maudsley |
