TOWN OF EATON PLANNING BOARD May 16, 2007 The Planning Board held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 16th, 2007 at the Evans Memorial Building. Present were; Paul Savchick, Dick Shaw, Nancy Malvesta, and Lee Stack. Also attending was Kenneth McKenzie. The meeting was called to order by Paul Savchick at 7:15 p.m. The Board discussed membership. The checklist will be reviewed for possible suspects. MINUTES The minutes for the meeting of April 18th were accepted as distributed. SELECTMEN’S REPORT Lee Stack said that FEMA had paid a visit and reviewed with Elwyn Thurston the damage done by the April storm. It is extensive. There is now a shortage of 3/4" gravel to finish off roads. There is still an issue over building permits for the Reibling property. The boundary line adjustment was approved last month but at this time no applications for building permits have been filed. The Selectmen had reviewed the proposed contracts for management of the blueberry fields. CONSERVATION COMMISSION REPORT Paul Savchick said the Conservation Commission had also reviewed the contracts for the blueberry fields. The permits for the bridges on the Willis Bean Rd will need to be redone because the April storm washed out the embankments. OTHER BUSINESS The Planning Board discussed seasonal dwellings being converted to full time residences, and authorized Nancy Malvesta to investigate adoption of Robert rules and revising the bylaws and rules of procedure. Nancy Malvesta said there were sections of the Zoning Board of Adjustment rules of procedure that might be beneficial for the Planning Board to adopt. The Board also discussed putting a package of information together for those not familiar with subdivision and site plan regulations. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT Paul Savchick said he had met with Nancy Malvesta and David Maudsley before the meeting to review the status of the Master Plan. Additional issues for consideration for inclusion include sprawl, broadband access, low impact development, sustainability, global warming, energy conservation, affordable housing, and land acquisition. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m. Respectfully submitted, David V. Maudsley |
