PLANNING BOARD

September 19, 2007

The Planning Board held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 19th, 2007 at the Evans Memorial Building. Present were; Paul Savchick , Nancy Malvesta, Dick Shaw, Frank Holmes, Adam Nelson and Dennis Sullivan. The meeting was called to order by Paul Savchick at 7:05 p.m.Paul Savchick welcomed the new members, Dennis Sullivan, Frank Holmes and Adam Nelson.

MINUTES

The minutes for the meeting of August 14th were accepted as distributed.

SELECTMEN’S REPORT

On behalf of the Selectmen, David Maudsley reported that the Bridge Committee had met with the engineer to discuss the bridge replacement on the Potter Rd. The Highway Department was still working on reconstructing Bush Rd and other roads damaged during the April storm. Lee Stack was still pursuing Verizon and Time Warner about broad band access for the Town.

CONSERVATION COMMISSION REPORT

Paul Savchick said the two new bridges for the Willis Bean Rd had arrived. Stewart Heath was already at work getting the road ready.

The blueberries on Foss Mt will not be organically certified this year. Also the picking will take longer than in the past. The top of the mountain will be available for public picking and the areas will be marked. Paul Savchick said the Conservation Commission was looking into a machine for clearing the brush on Foss.

CORRESPONDENCE

Paul Savchick distributed a letter of deficiency issued by the Department of Environmental Services for Michael Kent on Ridge Rd. Changes made required an "Alteration of Terrain" permit that had not been applied for.

Copies of proposed changes to the by laws and rules of procedure were distributed. The object was to update them and standardize on the format already adopted by the Zoning Board of Adjustment. They will be discussed further at the next meeting.

A zoning change to allow accessory buildings in the absence of a primary structure was discussed.

The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
