PERMITS FOR USE OF TOWN LANDS AND FACILITIES

Town lands are used for recreation and education by groups including schools, summer camps, churches, hiking clubs, scout groups and other youth organizations, as well as groups organized by businesses and commercial establishments. This use has tremendous impact upon the land. In order to decrease the impace and to ensure that ll groups receive information on safety and regulations, all groups need to apply for a permit. A permit application is attached. In addition to the requirements for detailing the type of activity, the date of the activity and the number of people involved, adequate insurance has to be provided as detailed below before a permit will be issued.

All groups receiving a permit must provide proof of occurrence insurance. To meet the insurance requirements you must:

1. Have public liability insurance covering a minimum of $25,000 for property damage, a minimum of $300,000 for injury to one individual, and a minimum of $300,000 for injury to more than one individual.

2. Name the Town of Eaton, P. O. Box 88, Eaton NH 03832 as co-insured.

3. Be insured for the activity described in the application.

4. Have the insurance company send a written notice to the Town of Eaton at least 30 days before any changes in or cancellation of the policy.

All applications must be received at least 30 days before the scheduled trip.
