EATON SCHOOL BOARD
June 4, 2007
MINUTES
PRESENT: Jane Gray, Patricia Philbrick, Judith Goss, Marla Browning, and Dr. Carl Nelson.
1. Chair Gray called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
2. Approval of Minutes – Pat Philbrick moved to approve the minutes of May 7, 2007 as presented. The motion was seconded by Judie Goss and passed 3-0-0.
3. Business Affairs
A. Signing of Manifest – The manifest was signed as presented.
4. Superintendent's Report
A. The SAU Board will meet on June 13th at 6:30 p.m. at Conway Elementary.
B. A special Conway School Board meeting will be held on June 6th at 6:00 p.m. at John Fuller School.
C. KHS graduation is June 16th at 10:00 a.m.
5. Any Other Business
A. Set Date for Next Meeting – August 6, 2007 at 5:00 p.m.
6. Board Member Issues
A. Letter to Students – The Board reviewed a draft of a letter to students. Jane and Judie will work on the draft.
B. Marla Browning and Jane Gray discussed the 9th grade placement at KHS. There has been no communication about this change in the 9th grade structure (heterogeneous grouping). Marla and Jane will attend the June 11th Conway School Board meeting to bring up the topic.
7. Nonpublic Session – Carl answered questions regarding a student matter.
8. Adjourn – Jane Gray moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Pat Philbrick and passed 3-0-0 at 5:35 p.m.
